Like many kids in their early teens, Jess (Kayla Holdsworth) isn't
particularly keen on going to church - but her parents (Lucy Marshall,
Chris Dudley) pretty much force her to go anyhow as it's supposed to be a
special occasion, and for some reason she has got a really bad feeling
about this. The church though is relatively on the empty side, and the
excuses of the leader of the congregation (Sharon Spink) are rather
feeble. Also her story about their particular group being
"misunderstood" sound very fishy, so when cups of funny smelling
"water" are handed out for all to drink, Jess has good enough
sense not to drink it - but that's when things change for the worse, in
fact much worse ... A very nice horror miniature of the
"evil cult" variety, this film works thanks to its combination
of strong cast and atmospheric direction on the basis of a script that
might tell a by now familiar story that still manages to hold some
surprises. Really good, actually, and well worth a watch!
