- Mother May I: Sister Sylvia (Ellen Greene) runs her convent
school with the strictest of hands, and her rules include unruly
students stripping and flogging themselves. But she herself listens to
a much darker authority than her students could even dream of ...
- Hell Chef: A school girl (Maki Mizui) kills her would-be
rapist (Hiroaki Murakami) in self defense. Enter the Hell Chef (Eihi
Shiina) to show her how to make a tasty meal out of him ...
- Basement: Father (Clint Howard) and mother (Caroline
Williams) lead a perfectly happy life - so happy in fact that they
keep their daughter (Tara Cardinal) locked up in the basement as
father's sextoy ...
- Bridge: A woman's (Valentina Lainati) so overcome by
childhood memories of an old castle that upon revisiting it it affects
her adult life ...
- Tophet Quorum: All she (Marta Paganelli) wanted was to find
out what has happened to her allegedly stillborn child - but she sure
didn't expect a satanic cult and wolf-people ...
- Goodwife: John's an old-fashioned man (Dan Ellis) who just
believes women should know their place. And that's why he abducts a
woman (Tina Krause) he believes to be of low mores, to torture and
kills her in his basement. Then though his devoted wife Lisa (Monique
Parent) finds out about this - and wants in on the fun ...
- Mors in Tabula: In Nazi Germany, a young boy (L. Dora) is
"euthanized" for his mental and physical challenges for the
good of his country - but not the good of his mother (Carina Palmer)
...
- Sins of the Father: A man wants to have revenge on his father
who sexually abused him as a boy - only the revenge doesn't go quite
as planned ...
- Manna: A swanky nightclub also proves to be a hunting ground
for human sacrifices ...

Now one thing's for certain, The Profane Exhibit is not a movie
for everybody, and even if one's into horror this is one disturbing movie,
as when it comes to the evil of humankind there's hardly a low this film
doesn't sink to. But to label this film as pure exploitation would be
missing the point, as in all its depictions of cruelty, the film's
segments are well told and rather than being sensationalist they are
disturbing for mirroring the evils of humankind. And of course, some segments of this
very diverse array of directors from all over hit home harder than others,
but this is definitely a movie that will stay with its audience for quite
some time after watching.
