The appearance of unidentified flying objects over active volcanoes,
often even entering or leaving them, is probably one of the lesser known
aspects of UFOlogy, and it's a phenomenon witnessed with quite some
frequency in Central America, where Jaime Maussan has turned from eye
witness into researcher, trying to capture these objects with state of the
art camera equipment, and with quite some success too. But then there's
the question, why isn't mainstream news media reporting about this
phenomenon, or at least hardly at all - a question that bugs UFO
information lobbyist Stephen Bassett, who has over the years become an
activist when it comes to trying to get the gouvernment to open up its
archives about extraterrestrial visits ... Now one thing's for
certain, if you don't believe in UFOs, this documentary isn't likely to
convince you otherwise as it takes a bit of a short cut from "I can't
explain what's in the picture" to "it must be an UFO"
without looking for alternative explanations, and frankly, not all footage
is terribly convincing let alone conclusive. But even if you are a
non-believer, this is still an interesting film for sure, as it might not
answer half as much as probably intended but it asks interesting questions
and gets one thinking. And if you're at all interested in UFOlogy (no
matter if you're a believer or not), this sure is a cool source of
information on one of the lesser-known branches of research.
