After years of searching, a woman (Bianca Stam) finally comes face to
face with the killer (Nicholas de Burgh Sidley) of her husband, but as
meticulously as she might have planned everything, she has to realize
taking a life, even for revenge, isn't that easy ... Now first
of all, The Tortured Soul, a very engaging thriller miniature, is
of course an actor's film, and Bianca Stam really gives it her all to
bring her character to life and she really carries the film. That's not to
say it isn't cleverly written, though, as while the film's basically an 8
minute monologue, it doesn't feel boring for one second, hitting all the
right talking points at all the right moments, while the camera gets the
most out of the film's single location, to make this one very nice short
suspense piece.
