Mine, who spent years away from home to evade a former lover, Tarik,
finally returns with her new husband, Metin, only to learn about several
murders committed by a person who, according to descriptions, might be
Tarik. Soon enough, Mine starts having nightmares about Tarik, and it
doesn't get any better when, at her friend Oya's party, she is attacked by
Tarik ...
At the party though, she also meets Yilmaz, Oya's toyboy, and the two
almost immediately fall for each other, and before long they even have
sex, even though she thought she was frigid ... but someone witnesses them
doing it and takes photos to blackmail Mine. At the same time, too, more
murders happen, and after Mine sees Tarik's cut off head, Yilmaz is
suddenly the prime suspect ... and Mine's life slowly turns into a
nightmare. it is not until the end that the truth is revealed: Metin is
really in league with Oya and wants to get as much money out of his wife
as possible and also drive her mad - to which end they needed Tarik, who
only faked his own death. And at the very end, all the baddies get their
just desserts while Mine gets Yilmaz and the two lived happily ever after
...
A short but convoluted murder mystery full of sex and violence that
looks and plays pretty much like a Turkish version of the then popular
Italian giallo - and the film actually works, too. Of course, Thirsty
for Love, Sex and Murder is in no way comparable to the best films of
the genre like Dario Argento's or Mario Bava's classics or Sergio
Martino's best films, but it does offer an hour of pleasent and enjoyable
sex-and-crime entertainment that isn't boring for even a minute. No
classic, certainly, but recommended anyways !
