Amazoness (Yukie Kagawa), second-in-command of the evil Iron Cross
Army, becomes more and more worried of late, on one hand there is
apparently someone inside the organisation who's giving away the locations
of its hideouts to the Army's arch-enemy Spider-Man (Shinji Todou). On the
other hand, her assistants Bella and Rita have become awfully close with
Professor Monster (Mitsuo Ando), leader of the Iron Cross Army, of late.
Then she learns the mole within the Army is Professor Monster, and he has
tons of plans she was not aware of and will not be part of - unless she
finally kills Spider-Man. Amazoness lures Spidey in an especially
elaborate trap that involves kidnapping his girlfriend (Rika Miura) - and
it seems this time she succeeds in both poisoning and drowning her mortal
enemy. Now she's back in favours with Professor Monster - until Spidey,
who has come back to strength thanks to his incredible healing powers,
attacks Iron Cross Army headquarters. A fight erupts between Amazoness on
one hand and Professor Monster, Bella and Rita on the other, and even
though Amazoness is fatally wounded by Bella and Rita, she manages to
snatch their escape rocket, which then blows up in mid-air. Spidey takes
care of Bella and Rita rather quickly, then theough Professor Monster
grows to giant size and Spidey has to call his giant robot
Marveller/Leopardon for assistance. But with destroyiing Professor
Monster, he wipes the entire Iron Cross Army off the face of the earth. Ok
final episode of Spider-Man, as this one is comparatively decently
paced, features quite a lot of action, and a few more interesting plot
elements (like the rivalry between Amazoness and Bella and Rita). This
doesn't make this one a superhero classic of course, but at least a decent
last episode to a very uneven series.
