When he sees his kid brother bully his classmate Junichi, Takuya
(Shinji Todou) doesn't only get furious and scolds his brother, he also
takes an immediate liking to Junichi, especially when he learns the boy is
fatherless, with a working mom, and is suffering from seizures. So Takuya
visits Junichi as Spider-Man, to brighten up the boy's day a bit. Eventually,
Takuya's kid brother starts hanging out with Junichi as well, but then
Junichi suffers a seizure that gets him right into hospital for a bit of
open heart surgery. Spider-Man promises the boy to be there for surgery,
but somehow the evil Iron Cross Army gets wind of this and tries to lure
Spider-Man into a trap when he least expects it. But wouldn't you know it,
Spider-Man does expect it and expertly evades the baddies - even if that
means he cannot get to Junichi before surgery and only send an encouraging
letter. During surgery, Spider-Man takes apart the Iron Cross Army and
their latest Machine Bem (~ robot monster with the ability to grow to the
size of a high rise), and once that's accomplished he pays Junichi a
visit, just as promised. One of the weakest episodes of the
Japanese Spider-Man series, this one concentrates way too
much on the incredibly cheesy (and not even well-told) story at hand while
pretty much ignoring the series' framing story (Spider-Man vs the Iron
Cross Army) apart from the obligatory showdown. What's worse though, this
one is no fun at all.
