A tourist (Lina Romay) notices that someone from a neighbouring
building is not only able to look right into her hotel room, he also does
so using binoculars, and is obviously getting off to seeing her naked and
doing naughty things. Now the average person would probably just draw down
the blinds and that's that, but our tourist here is also an exhibitionist,
so she masturbates for her exhibitionist, later invites a woman over to
have some fun with her, and finally a man to fuck her - all in plain view
of our exhibitionist friend (and also the camera of course). There's
really not much to say about El Mirón y la Exhibicionista, apart from the fact that it is
one of Jess Franco and Lina Romay's most boring films - basically, it's
just Lina having sex and that's it. And even though it covers one of Jess
Franco's most favourite grounds - voyeurism - it doesn't really explore or
exploit this aspect of the film's disappointingly sceletal story (which is
really sold off as a "story" by the way). It's mainly just, Lina
making out with herself and other people, nothing beyond this (rather
unusual for Franco, actually, who finds visual stimulation in almost
everything). The one saving grace here is of course Lina herself, who's
really into what she's doing (having sex), and even though many reviewers
who obviously have supermodel girlfriends remark that she by 1986 has
already turned a little towards the plus-size side of womanhood, she still
shows she's very much into this, she manages to look into the camera as
seductively as 15 years earlier, and her enthusiasm at least is infectuous
... and no, that's not enough to save this movie, but it helps at least.
