Korppainen (Tapio Kauma) owes his brother Kartsa (Tapio Kauma again)
some money, and to pay back, Kartsa forces Korppainen to take part in the
testing of a new medication - a medication that soon shows the weirdest of
side effects ... like masked and hooded man going after Korppainen to kill
him. To find out what's going on, Korppainen meets up with Timo (Viljami
Packalen), a young man who took part in the same experiment - but when he
finds out Timo might be one of those who tried to kill him, they start to
fight and Korppainen ultimately kills Timo. He meets up with another man
having taken part in the experiment, Osmo (Jussi Nousiainen), who tells
Korppainen the experiment was actually a means of bringing a demon over
from another dimension - which Korppainen considers bullshit. But then he
runs into the experiment's head (Heikki Kauma) and its chief physician
(Ville Väisänen), who try a little too hard to convince him that he's a
psychopathic killer, and now Korppainen is hell-bent for some definite
answers - and maybe he actually has to go to hell to get them ... Ok,
so the plot of Medicated doesn't make all that much sense and does
seem a bit like a bunch of genre clichés thrown together to see what fits
- but that's really part of the charm of this movie, it's a wild ride that
might sound at the same time a bit non-sensical and familiar, but it
pushes on and on, and a tongue-in-cheek approach to the proceedings makes
this one pretty much irresistible to all fans of low budget genre fare
(like myself). Totally worth a watch.
