Paige (Gabrielle Stone) finds herself torn between two relationships:
There's Her childhood friend Kris (Alex Lynn Ward), who she has over the
years fallen in love with, but they have to keep their relationship a
secret because on the other hand there's Stephen (Randy Wayne), Paige's
boyfriend who has anger issues and who has tendencies to beat her up for
at times no reason at all - and he certainly wouldn't approve of Paige and
Kris. Kris urges Paige to leave Stephen, but she always returns - to the
point where things pretty much have to come to a head ... Veteran actors
Amanda Wyss and Chris Mulkey play Paige's parents. A very
strong short about domestic violence that uses its relatively slow pace to
its fullest advantage and that gives things room to grow instead of
relying on the spectacle the story only seems to suggest. And all of that
is helped by a very restrained directorial effort and a strong cast that
help for the movie to get under one's skin. Totally worth a look!
