Mystic Madam Josephine (Joy Vandervort-Cobb) takes us through a handful of stories
highlighting the macabre - and tries to sell some charms on the side ...
- The Bridge Partner: Mattie (Beth Grant) is a passionate
bridge player, but at best average at it, so when she's at a
tournament partnered with flamboyant Olivia (Sharon Lawrence), they
lose big time - so much so that Olivia threatens to kill her ...
- The Disappearance of Willie Bingham: Willie
Bingham (Kevin Dee), who has killed a woman, is being punished
in a novel legal procedure pay for his crime by having his limbs his limbs
amputated one by one to serve as a bad example to be
exhibited in high schools ...
- It's woman (Charly Thorn) versus cat in Violent Florence ...
- The Son, the Father: Luke's (Lucas Oktay, teenage Luke played
by Christopher Morson) mum (Colleen Carey) has played morbig pranks on
him a few times too often to not pay her price for it ...
- Marian: Recently orphaned Marian (Johanah Basanta) can't get
over the loss of her mother (Astarte Abraham), and since she doesn't
get along with her slavedriver aunt (Astarte Abraham again), she asks for
assistance from the beyond ...

A very nice collection of horror shorts from pretty much all around the
world that might in almost everything, from approach to horror to extent
of violence to nuances of irony (or lack thereof), but they're all united
by really solid narratives that follow the old school short story
approach, where a build-up laced with macabre details amounts to a morbid
finale. And even though the individual segments vary vastly in style, they
all are slickly produced and directed, to make for a great genre
compendium.
