Finally, Dustin (Paul Zawadsky) has lured Frenzy (Dani Scott), the
immortal demon that has killed his father when he was a boy, into a trap,
but not just to old-fashionedly try to kill her out of revenge - since
she's immortal that wouldn't work of course -, but to have her tied up in
his basement and electro-shock her via a remote-controlled necklace, to
slowly fry her. But Dustin's not a sadist driven insane by revenge, he's a
businessman - so he tracks down family and loved ones of those Frenzy has
killed, to give them 10 minutes alone with Frenzy and the remote control
that triggers the necklace, to have them join in on the fun of frying her
brain. Sounds like a good business idea, and Dustin is making a small
fortune off of it. What he hasn't taken into account though is Frenzy's
powers of manipulation ... and that some of those out for revenge want a
little more than just pushing buttons on a remote control - like a
griefing mother (horror icon Debra Lamb) who has brought a knife to her
meeting with Frenzy, which leads to disastrous results ... Though
ticking all the boxes as a horror film, this is actually more of a battle
of wits between the two leads Frenzy and Dustin - and even though Frenzy
is obviously an evil demon, the longer this goes, the more the lines
between good and evil as such are blurred, the less it becomes clear who
to root for ... and in a weird way, the ultimate pay-off is satisfying
even. Now add to that a strong ensemble cast and a atmosphere heavy
direction, and you've got yourself a really nice little movie.
