Small fry crooks Olivia (Caroline Anderson) and Diana (Vivian Belosky)
have seriously botched up a job for their boss Alvara (Jamie Ragusa) and
now think about taking off to Canada to escape her wrath - something
Alvara has of course anticipated and has had them equipped with a GPS
tracker - so eventually they end up tied up in Alvara's basement, with
Alvara's right hand man Ray (Casey Sullivan) at the ready to torture them
- but Alvara has a better idea, why not play a game of Russian roulette:
With only one bullet in her gun, she asks the girls questions, and every
time they give an answer she doesn't like, she pulls the trigger once, but
if she does like the answer, she pulls the trigger on herself, to give
Olivia and Diana a fair chance. Be that as it may, the girls seem to have
the cards stacked against them ... A very tight thriller
miniature, and one that works quite so well because while the story is
quite straightforward, there are still enough twists and turns in there to
keep the audience at the edges of their seats, while the whole thing is
welcomely morally ambiguous and doesn't work towards a forced happy ending
at any price. And strong performances by all involved only help in making
this a very enjoyable piece of genre entertainment.
