Ilona (Ilona Staller) is the good-night-girl, a popular hostess of a
radio show about love romance and above everything sex. she's also very
attractive and likes to reveal her breasts and pussy, especially in
public. She has posed nude for pretty much every men's magazine, and every
man is in love with her, and even quite a few women. Riccardo (Giancarlo
Marinangeli) is a photographer who has a special bond with Ilona, not
because he knows her but because he thinks that seen through his eyes (and
camera lense) she could become an even bigger star. Eventually, he manages
to get in touch with her and they do numerous photo shoots. Ilona, free
spirit that she is, soon wants to have sex with Riccardo, but he turns her
down. During a beach shoot, Riccardo is beaten up and Ilona is almost
raped by a bunch of bikers, but they are saved by June, who takes them to
her nearby mansion, where she gets Ilona drunk and eventually seduces her
- when Riccardo bursts in to save her in a fit of jealousy. Ilona
decides to tour the country in a stage show, in which she strips naked
repeatedly and sings a few songs, a show organized by Riccardo that
becomes a smash hit. But the show also gives Ilona to the masses, and she
realizes she has no more use for Riccardo (not sure why) - but as a
parting present, they finally have sex. An exaggerated and
idealized showcase for Ilona Staller's public persona (she really was the
hostess of an erotic radio show in the late 1970's as well as a nude
model), Cicciolina Amore Mio, itself a softcore flick, is
significant inasmuch as it introduced Staller's screen alter ego Cicciolina,
soon the star of a string of hardcore films, to the movie world. This of
course doesn't say anything about the quality of the film at hand, and to
be honest, it's a less than remarkable film, it lacks any proper
storyline, the sex scenes are often rather sloppily filmed, and the cast
doesn't really seem up to the task, acting-wise. On the other hand though,
the film shows Ilona Stalloer at the height of her beauty, and she gets
naked an awful lot. Plus the 1970's looks of the film, from its filter
effects to sets and costumes, are almost instantly loveable, so it's all
but a total loss - but not a real winner, either ...
