One of these days: Joe (Marc Powers), in his mid-40s, has never made it
past bagman for the mob, and even those he works for don't respect him,
which pisses him off more and more. To make things worse, his girlfriend
(Gabrielle Salvi) dumps him, simply failing to see any future with a
small-fry crook like him. And even the bar he usually drinks at fails to
give solace today. But things go from bad to worse when he's hired by
Mikey (Kris Salvi) to drive him across town as Mikey's afraid of a local
serialkiller - and Mikey proves to be a regular pain in the neck, and
Joe's in no good mood ... A very cool little film that manages
to pack much content into its less than 20 minutes of running time without
overconvoluting things, instead leaving much to hints and letting the
audience read between the lines, which is also why a laid back pace works
quite so well for the movie, while the finale, even if it doesn't show as
much as it could, really packs a punch. And a very subtle yet moody
directorial effort and a very competent ensemble cast make this one a
keeper for sure.
