For whatever reason, evil scientist Doctor Ort (Peter Brocco) wants to
find out who Superman is witht he help of his truth serum, and since he
figures Superman must in some way be connected to the Daily Planet,
he tries the serum first on Jimmy Olsen (Jack Larson) and Perry White
(John Hamilton) - but of course neither of them knows anything, so he goes
after Clark Kent (George Reeves) - who of course really is Superman and on
whom the serum doesn't work, even if he pretends it does - and Lois Lane
(Phyllis Coates).
Lois Lane of course also doesn't know who Superman is, but under the
influence of the serum, she finds out and tells Doc Ort so ... before
Superman can come to her rescue, and Ort makes a daring escape but dies in
a shoot-out with the police.
Not totally thought through and rather on the campy side of things,
this episode of Adventures of Superman is nevertheless fun
to watch, basically because it's quite simply unpretentious and campy
without being cheesy.
