Because Harry Wong (Victor Sen Yung) wants to marry Lily (Gloria
Saunders), he wants to steal a priceles Chinese jade statue rom Lu Song
(Pau E.Burns), who wants to donate the statue to a museum. Unfortunately
though, to steal the statue, Harry has teamed up with gangster Greer
(James Craven), who doesn't mind taking Lily as hostage when something
goes wrong along the way, and who ultimately decides he could do without
Harry and Lily altogether, leaving them to die in an underground
passageway he then floods.
Good thing reporter Clark Kent (George Reeves) is on the case though,
along with inspector Henderson (Robert Shayne) and Lois Lane (Phyllis
Coates), and since Kent is secretly Superman, he finds Harry and Lily just
in time using his supervision, and then he uses his superpowers to free
Lois Lane, whom Greer has since taken hostage, and to bring Greer to
justice.
And when Henderson learns about Harry's motives to steal the statue, he
decides to not press charges against him.
A mediocre episode of the series that doesn't really work as a good
crime tale, it's too simplistic to that end, but also isn't campy enough
to come off as big and childish fun. Wtill, it's not too bad either.
