Clark Kent (George Reeves) takes temporal care of teenage Frankie
(Tyler MacDuff) - which wouldn't be much of a story, if it wasn't for the
fact that the boy hates Superman (who is of course Clark Kent's alter ego)
since Superman has booked his uncle and guardian Duke (Roy Barcroft), a
notorious crime kingpin. Behind Clark's back, Frankie does everything to
spring Duke from jail, but he only has to learn that Duke has long
betrayed him - while Jimmy Olsen (Jack Larson), Clark's young colleague,
sticks with Frankiie no matter what. And when Clark, Jimmy and friends
have a birthday party for Frankie at Clark's office, he is so deeply
touched that he tries to call of the plans to spring Duke. He doesn't
succeed, but gives Clark/Superman just the right clues to prevent Duke
from escaping anyhow ...
This episode is something like Adventures of Superman's
take on juvenile delinquency - and the whole thing is just too naive and
childish to really work. Now in some episodes of the series, this amounts
to enjoyable camp, here it only amounts to almost embarrassing kitsch. Not
worth your time, really.
