For years, Tony Martone's (Mario Carneiro) family has controlled everything that's going on in East Providence, RI, and he has everyone in his pocket, from the mayor to police to the Feds even. And then a new family, led by Ray Amato (Daniel Fainman) tries to muscle in after been driven out of New York City. Sure, they're about as well-organized as Tony's clan, and what they lack in connections they make up in ruthlessness, so Tony, already annoyed by their sheer chuzpe, can talk them down all he wants, he knows that eventually there has to be a blood war - and it really starts when Amato and company shoot dead a gambler under Tony's protection on Tony's turf. Now in this war, Tony has an ace up his sleeve, as Amato's fixer Nicky (Nicky Scarz) is secretly in Amato's employ, so eventually Nicky sticks Tony that Amato plans to assassinate him, for Tony to stage his own assassination (including funeral and everything) before that. But what Tony doesn't know is that Amato has already made plans for after Tony's demise, plans that involve Tony's wife (Christine Festa) and son (Domenic Arduino), and not to their advantage ...

So ok, this movie was obviously made on a tight budget, so slight inconsistencies in picture and especially sound shouldn't come as too big a surprise - but apart from that this is a really well-written and well-acted mafia epic, and one that keeps the story on a scale with budget without tension and suspense ever suffering from it - quite the opposite, this feels a very intimate film with genre mainstays being kept on a believable and, even more importantly, relatable level, making this one pretty enjoyable gangster flick.
