Ever since his wife and daughter have died, Sam finds little reason to
live. Yet he receives mysterious calls from a stranger who tells him to
kill (at least to him) random people. It's a task that Sam doesn't enjoy,
but it's also the only thing that keeps him going. Thing is, the deeper he
gets into this gruesome game, the more he realizes his victims are not
that random, and they as well as his mysterious caller might be somehow
linked to his tale of woe ... Now this film sure must have been
a tour-de-force for director Andy Blithe, as he's not only doing all the
behind-the-camera jobs (as in camera, sound and whatnot) but also plays
all the roles in front of the camera, Sam, his victims, his caller - and
yet, the film doesn't seem to be cheapened because of that, mainly because
Blithe takes care that all shots are well-arranged, adds dufferent nuances
to the different characters (including sufficiently altered looks), and
goes for an accomplished cinematic language. Plus in the end his ploy to
play all the characters is revealed to be more than a cinematic stunt. So
the resultat is then a quite fascinating movie for sure.
