Jungle Jim number 13:
Leroux (Gregory Gaye) wants to esploit a diamond mine deep in Kambosi
country, but since the Kambosi are not very likely to just let him, he
enlists the help of Zulu (Paul Thompson) and his tribe, the Maro, to
destroy Kambesi city, drive the Kambesi off their country and across the
river, and capture the Kambesi royal family, chief Boganda (Vince Townsend
jr), his son Zuwaba (Bernie Hamilton) and Zuwaba's wife N'Gala (Louise
Franklin).
When Jungle Jim (Johnny Weissmuller) hears about this he isn't happy at
all, and soon he, inspector Bernard (Richard Wyler) and Doc Bonnie
Crandall (Karin Booth) interfere, and after the usual to and fro and the
usual hi-jinks of Jim's chimp Tamba, Zulu's warriors are defeated, both
Leroux and Zulu get their just desserts, and inspector Bernard gets Doc
Bonnie.
In th ecourse of the events, Jim fights a lion and the usual crocodile,
but it's a fight lion vs bull that takes the top honours here, inasmuch as
the bull almost gores the lion. (Might not be suitable for all animal
lovers though.) Oh, and don't be misled by the title, there are no
cannibals in this film.
Routine Jungle Jim adventure that features black natives for a
change. Of course, it's silly, cheap and cheesy, but if cheap and cheesy
jungle pics are your thing, why not ?
