A dead woman is found, her throat torn open by what might have been
wolf jaws ... but there are several traces on her body that suggest
something much more sinister. And evidence at the crimescene, including a
photo showing her with a beautiful woman (Tristan Risk), suggests she was
not killed there at all but in a coastal village called Innsmouth - and on
a hunch, detective Olmstead (Diana Porter) decides to go there to
investigate ... and once in Innsmouth, she's promptly knocked out, and
when she comes toshe finds herself opposite the woman in the photo, Alice
Marsh, who claims to be the daughter of the town's founder ... which of
course is impossible, since the town was founded 400 years ago - but there
are many impossible and entirely creepy things to say about Alice Marsh
... Loosely based on concepts by H.P. Lovecraft (yup, the
title's a dead-giveaway), Innsmouth is a highly original little
horror thriller that manages to capture a sense of unease from scene 1
that builds up creepy atmosphere until the grotesque yet very fitting
finale. And Diana Porter and Tristan Risk really manage to carry the
movie, developing an eerie kind of chemistry. Nice one - and prepare to
be freaked out!
