Vic (Nic Roewert) is a vampire - and he isn't all that happy about it,
as he figures his need for human blood has deemed him to stay alone
forever. And that has driven him to drinking - alcohol that is. And
between these two he has found himself in a vicious circle, so much so
that he has joined the Alcoholics Anonymous in an honest effort to
get over at least one of his addictions - with at best modest success. But
then he makes a chance acquaintance that changes everything ... Now
of course the vampirism-alcoholism anology isn't exactly new and
anything but super-insightful - but at the same time it seems to be
weirdly underused in the genre and on top of that finds a very original
approach here, as it really starts out as your typical anti-alcoholism
movie here with its seemingly prerequisite Alcoholics Anonymous session on
top of it - to really examine the topic as a whole from that vantage
point, without trying to delive the same empty message. And a genre savvy
directorial effort and a competent cast make sure to drive the ball home,
too.
