Becasue her brilliant scientist husband Felix (Michael Anthony) has
been kidnapped and will only be released in exchange for a grondbreaking
medical formula he has developed, Harriett Ludlow (Greta Gynt) turns to
Bulldog Drummond (Robert Beatty) for help. And the first thing Drummond
does is to steal the formula from Harriett, then he has his assistant
Kelly (Michael ripper) sell a fake back to her ... and suddenly, Harriett
and Felix Ludlow's assistant Roger (William Franklyn) want Drummond off
the case. Felix however is a personal friend of Drummond, so he
investigates and eventually uncovers a kidnapping plot cooked up by
Harriett, Roger and crime kingpin Kinsella (Harry Lane), who want to get
their hands on Ludlow's formula which could make them a fortune ... but of
course, Drummond evetnually sees to it that they get their just desserts
instead. A rather convoluted whodunnit crammed into a mere 25
or so minutes of screentime, the whole thing remains utterly predictable
nevertheless. That said, at least the show is fast-paced, well-acted and
features action aplenty. Nothing great to be sure, but entertaining
enough. Intended as a pilot for a series that never got made.
