Zone Fighter's (Kazuya Aoyama) attempt to lure King Ghidorah away from
earth and to Venus for a one-on-one that were suggested last
episode utterly failed when King Ghidorah ... just refuses to
follow. And back on earth, Zone Fighter must realize that his family has
been abducted by the Garoga to be executed by saw. Coming after them, Zone
Fighter of course walks into an ambush, but saves his family from being
sawn apart anyhow. Then King Ghidorah returns to earth, and by flapping
his (not so) mighty wings he creates a vacuum that causes cars to float.
This is where Zone Fighter turns to giant size again, plucks the cars from
the air, then fights and is defeated by King Ghidorah. But laying some of
Japan to ruins, King Ghidorah leaves earth again, and Zone Fighter,
following the monster to outer space in a space ship, manages to corner
him on Venus and fight, defeat and chase him away for good ...
The script for this sure is inconsequential, from Zone Fighter not
noticing he's not followed by King Ghidorah to King Ghidorah leaving earth
after having defeated Zone Fighter - but at the same time this is also
good nostalgic fun, with some good old-fashioned special effects, some
typical 70s TV silliness, and of course pretty much timeless campiness.
Now no great piece of television maybe, but good entertainment for mainly
the wrong reasons nevertheless.
