It's 3 years after the year 2024: The world has become obsessed with
beauty products - so much so that the waste empty shampoo bottles and
spray cans and the like create outweighs everything else ... and as a
result, this waste is shot into space on a rocket ship. But in space it
apparently mutates and a few years later a well-perfumed asteroid hits
earth and turns all those using beauty products into flesh-eating zombies
- which makes the rest of the population their prey of course. And there's
only one man standing into the zombie hordes' way, Jim Aal, heavily armed
tough guy who really doesn't give much of a shit about everything as long
as his beer supply doesn't run out ... One thing you mustn't do
is taking Zombiercalypse even remotely serious - I mean, even the
opening scene with its charmingly clumsy special effects (along with the
intentionally oddly worded narration) should give away we're not in for a
subtle satire about our current beauty cult but a broad comedy with
satirical undercurrents. But once you've accepted that and can also take
some gore with your comedy, you're in for a lot of fun, it's silly macho
oneliners set to images of zombie splatter - which somehow go very well
together. Plus, it's apparent that cast and crew had tons of fun, fun that
translates into the final product!
