One early morning, Sara (Maxim Roy) gets a call from her husband
(Jeremy Sisto), who's on a business trip to Wichita, who asks her but a
small favour, to find a certain business card among his things. No big
thing of course ... it's just, Sara isn't at home at the moment but in bed
with another man (Fabrice Wilder). But since she's only a few blocks down
the street from her home, Sara figures she can get her husband involved in
a long-winded talk about Wichita and all its sights while dashing up to
her home - and pretty much running to save her marriage. Somehow by sheer
luck, her scheme seems to work - until she arrives at her house and is up
for a big surprise ... Above all else, Wichita is pretty
hilarious, as it really manages to milk the potential of its central
situation - but without outstaying its welcome, thanks to a really clever
script, Maxim Roy's performance that has just the right energy to carry
the movie, and a dynamic direction. But what really makes the movie more
than just a funny sketch is that it actually has a narrative structure,
with a third act that's not just a punchline but adds depth to the
proceedings.
