A meteor brings a giant monster to earth, and while the monster is by
no means fiercer than other monsters (rather the contrary, actually), it
still poses a special challenge to science patrol: It's so goddam heavy
the patrol has no idea how to remove it from Japanese soil, an airlift
doesn't work, stucking a propeller to it and turn it into a living
helicopter fails, and even giant robot Ultraman (Bin Furuya) is defeated
by the monster because it is just too heavy. They even stuck a rocket to
the monster's back to fly it away, but that only has the effect of
accelerating it on its path of destruction. In the end though, the Patrol
fills it up with enough hydrogen to turn it into a baloon and make it
float away ... The perhaps goofiest episode of Ultraman
- and for a change it's intentionally goofy, too. And one of the very few
episodes where Ultraman does not defeat the monster in battle. All this
might add up to nothing more than childish fun ... but fun, still.
