At a restaurant, Sarah (Belle Adams) thinks a woman at another table
(Marina Parodi) has given her the evil eye - but her boyfriend Simon (Ian
Michaels) chalks this up as a figment of her imagination in connection
with her pregnancy. However, she seems to see this woman more and more
often - or imagines she sees her -, and starts acting weird, so much so
that Simon takes her to Melissa (Dina Silva), the psychic girlfriend of
his best friend Dustin (Tim Fox), hoping she'll talk some sense into Sarah
- but Melissa only senses that Sarah is in real danger. But even she
doesn't realize it's much too late for Sarah to be helped ... Rachel's
(Kristina Klebe) new roommate Masha (Rebekah Kennedy) is a bit weird, but
Rachel always has her back, for which Masha is grateful. However it gets
too weird for Rachel when Masha shows up at her work and telling Rachel's
story as her own. She wants to chuck Masha out, but by that time Masha has
inherited witching powers from her grandmother, and there's no telling
what kinds of evil she's now able to do ... A fun piece of
horror of the witchery variety that might not exactly re-invent the genre,
but it's very good at setting its scenes of suspense and sudden shocks
just right and cranking up the creepiness to the max, using every trick in
the playbook to keep one splendidly entertained. And a very solid ensemble
cast carries the whole thing rather beautifully, making this very nice
genre cinema.
