June (June Collyer) is devastated: She thinks she's a horrible
housewife because she can't cook soufflé. Her neighbour Adele (Effie
Laird) thinks this is some kind of midlife crisis - and takes her to her
French singing teacher Jacques (Maurice Marsac) to take lessons. June
however isn't too keen on singing - but totally won over by the Frenchman
when she learns he's a master at making soufflés. However, eventually,
June's husand Stu (Stu Erwin) finds out she spends her afternoons with
Jacques, and since he doesn't know they are only interested in soufflés,
he's totally overcome by jealousy ... which June can only fix by cooking
Stu a soufflé - and screwing it up. So ok, the story of this
episode is as far-fetched as it is clichéed, and not only today's
feminists will hate it for its conservative female image - but apart from
all this, the whole thing is pretty funny, actually, and that's coming
from someone who's not a fan of the show as such ...
