Alan Tracy, one of the sons of International Rescue's chief, is in love
with Tintin, daughter of the chief's manservant ... but then Tintin is
paid a visit by Eddie Houseman, who builds streets for a living - and she
seems to fall for him head over heels. However, when their romance is
still blossoming, he is called back to fulfill a particularly difficult
contract to build a street through a tectonically dangerous area ... and
of course, before you know it, he needs rescuing, and International Rescue
is on the job, especially Alan, who this way seems to win back the heart
of Tintin. A love story among puppets ... things like this just
don't work as the puppets are (literally) far too wooden to portray any
feelings. Add to this an action plot that's less than exciting and some
model-work that is (for a change) less than convincing, and you are left
with very little.
