Octavia (Christiane Krüger) has just arrived on female-run planet
Medusa from earth with earth professor Evans (Derek Farr), who is to
negotiate a hostage exchange when she learns President Clara (Dawn Addams)
has been assassinated, and by some alien means, too - which puts the two
earth hostages Rudi (Christian Quadflieg) and Liz (Lisa Harrow) under
immediate suspicion. Especially Theda (Barbara Trentham), member of the
ruling class, tries everything to use the two as scapegoats and even
kidnaps them using her own militia to banish them to the inhospitable
surface world (Medusa's life takes place strictly underground).
Eventually, Theda wants to force her way to presidency, but she has not
taken into account that professor Evans might have a trick or two in his
pocket to heal Clara, who apparently hasn't died but was just suffering
from a common earth-cold (something not normally in existence on Medusa),
and thus he brings her back to health in no time - and thus, he spoils
Theda's coup and sees to it that Rudi and Liz are saved from the surface.
However, even though he has saved her life, president Clara just won't let
professor Evans take Rudi and Liz to earth with him ...
An episode that shows potential: The story is interesting for the most
part, and the beginning on the deserted planet is positively creepy.
However, the longer the story proceeds, the more run-of-the-mill it gets,
until it's resolved in a very unsatisfactory way.
Now this one could have been much better ...
