Having suffered a leg injury and with his girlfriend (Hannah Fierman)
out of town, Daniel (Anthonly Gaudette) moves back in with his mother
(Marty Smith) - who loves him very much but frequently oversteps the
boundary between caring and overbearing. But back in his old room, Daniel
remembers his childhood fears again - like being afraid of the monster
under the bed. Thing is, he does indeed her noises from under the bed,
noises that can only come from ... A really cool horror short
that might be a bit skeletal in its story and vague in backstory - but
that's exactly what makes the film so effective: There isn't much to
distract the viewer from the main plot, there are no explanation to
trivialize the horror on display, there aren't any overblown effects even
to draw away from the film's actual effect, and that's just creating
fear via atmospheric filmmaking, making perfect use of the less-is-more
approach, and ultimately offering a very cool horror trip.
