Johann (Raimund Wallisch), Max (Michael Ostrowski) and Mao (Pia
Hierzegger) are 3 student friends who are mostly all talk and no action -
until her underworld friend Schorsch (Georg Friedrich) proposes to Mao to
direct a porn for him, for money of course. The male actors for the porn
are found soon enough found: Johann and Max, who are perpetually horny
anyways and never seem to be getting enough. One of the female leads, Mara
(Iva Lukic) is found through a casting and taken mainly because she has
group sex experience, while the other is Martha (Sophia Laggner), who only
does it for the money and whom Max has a fling for - but that's not saying
anything, he also has a fling for Mao.
So the five head out to Mao's parents' house in Styria nad in the
middle of nowhere, and while the parents are away, they start shooting ...
and soon enough realize it's not that easy to shoot a porn, because:
- the boys aren't always able to get it up and shag in front of the
camera,
- Martha does not really feel comfy with the sex part of the film,
instead perpetually wants to discuss her role,
- the actresses don't get along at all,
- Mara is pissed at everybody because they are all talk and no action,
- and Schorsch, who is running into trouble with his boss Harry (Detlev
Buck), is moving the deadline closer and closer so his boss's demands can
be met.
... and then Martha, the only one with a car of the quintet, drives off
because she can't take it anymore - leaving the others in the middle of
nowhere with no car and short one actress - which eventually causes Mao to
do one scene with Max herself, only that Max can't perform ...
Ultimately Martha returns, she just needed a shag by someone else
before doing it on camera (and quite probably lost her virginity in the
process) and everything seems back to normal ... meaning there are 5
people who just can't have sex even though they are supposed to, but are
talking about it over and over ...
Ultimately, Max has the saving idea: They just have to stop listening
to their brains and start listening to their instincts like animals ...
and soon enough they are all naked and having an orgy while putting it all
on tape - o the project seems to be saved. Then though, with the filming
all done, Johann and Mao start shagging right in front of Max, who
suddenly has fogotten everything about his instincts once more and
jealousy comes kicking in (remember, he has a fling for Mao), and before
you know is, a fight between the three has broken out, in the course of
which Max destroys the videotape. And as if this wasn't enough, Schorsch,
who desperately needs the porn flick to make some money, announces himself
while Mara and Martha, who have since become friends, take off in the car.
So, to not get caught without a tape by Schorsch, who's pretty
desperate and armed right now, Max, Mao and Johann have to take off by
foot (not knowing that Schorsch has just crashed his beloved Corvette and
has gone totally tilt).
Somehow the trio reconciles and - out of money - decides to hitchhike
... but ultimately, Max and Johann are so busy talking and not doing
anything that only Mao actually takes the car ...
What sounds like either one of those compelling dramas that doesn't
leave out any any cliché available or like a bad German erotic comedy
from the 1970's is actually a pretty funny little movie, a somewhat
realistic portrayal of twentysomethings who are all talk and no action (in
more ways than one) that is at the same time filled with intentionally
silly jokes, oneliners that are so bad that they are hilarious and some
consciously hammy performances (first and foremost Georg Friedrich as
Schorsch). The outcome is quite simply an intelligent laugh riot. One word
of warning to all you voyeurs, there is not too much nudity in the film
and no explicit sex, still the film is definitely recommended !!!
(Interestingly enough, director Michael Glawogger claimed to have his
film based on bad German erotic comedies from the 1970's.)
