Feeling left out of the lives of his children and grandchildren,
Grandpa Munster (Al Lewis) decides to remarry, and to use a coupling
agency to find his next bride. All the family's excited, only Herman's
(Fred Gwynne) dead against it, and when Grandpa's bride-to-be Lydia (Linda
Watkins) stops over to spend a few days with Grandpa and family, he
refuses to even meet her. However, when she's over, cousin Marilyn
(Beverly Owen) gets somewhat suspicious as Lydia seems just too sweet. And
really, she runs her coupling agency with her partner Malcolm (Neil
Hamilton) only to marry rich and then get rid of her husbands to inherit
fortune after fortune. And of course, as soon as she's settled in the
Munster home, she starts building a (cartoonish) death trap for Grandpa -
but when she first sets sight on Herman, she's scared so witless that she
runs into her own trap, then out of the door right into the arms of two
policemen (Richard Reeves, Jerry Mann) who have already been looking for
her ... A good fun episode that has all the leads at their best
with some good supporting actors, and the premise really fits the series'
concept as it's prone for Munsters-specific jokes and
situations, making this, at least for fans, an absolute joy to watch.
