Out of the blue, Seth (Adam Weppler), a likeable yet not very
well-to-do guy, is invited to the country estate of Richard (Nicholas
Tucci), the millionaire half brother he didn't even know he had. Now
Richard's kind of an eccentric, a know-it-all, and someone who's sure to
always find everybody's sore spot - and he knows more about Seth than Seth
is comfortable with. But he's also generous enough for Seth, who's always
in need of a little extra cash, to decide to stay on. Plus there's
Richard's girlfriend Abby (Catherine Corcoran), who's not only really
nice, but also a really good looker, and she seems to have a soft spot for
Seth. So between lust and money, Seth is held back from leaving a couple
of times. But then, when the three of them as a result of a drunken party,
decide to play flashlight tag, Seth accidently learns there's a security
cam in his bedroom, and via it he sees Richard dragging away the lifeless
body of Abby - but when he confronts Richard about everything, Abby turns
out to be not dead at all, and she and Richard try to seduce Seth into a
threesome. But that only freaks Seth out and catastrophe ensues - and
that's even before Seth finds out what's really going on ... A
very interesting psychological thriller with erotic undercurrents that
really makes the most of its premise and basically takes the three
characters sparring on a mental level to new height after new height,
until disaster is inevitable - to then present the audience with a very
unexpected twist. This is all thanks to clever writing and sharp dialogue,
but also a directorial effort heavy on tension and atmosphere, while a
strong cast of course doesn't hurt one bit either. Well worth a watch for
sure!
