They (Ruby Setnik, Joshua Rose, Janice Angela Burt, Todd Lubitsch) are close to the perfect family, celebrating their perfect, peaceful Christmas, when a stranger (Greg Sestero) stops by and asks if he may make a call from their phone. Unfortunately the stranger is a bit of a psycho though and he ultimately ties them up and forces them to watch a bunch of Christmas-themed horror flicks:

  • Travel Buggies: Travel vloggers Dave (Caleb Lush) and Jess (Louise Harding) go on a camping trip in the snow over Christmas, something they haven't really thought through to begin with. So things go down the drain even before the scarecrow (Romulo Reyes) they've accidntly summoned comes to get them ...
  • The Christmas Gift: Dean (Jason Kuykendall) thinks it's a great idea to send himself to his kids for Christmas in a big box. It's just that the delivery people, identifying as Santa (Vernon Wells) and Mrs Claus (Lori Richardson) have a different idea ...
  • Untitled: He (Robert Livings) has a chip implanted into his head that monitors his every movement, he has to deliver a gift in 15 minutes in order to not be blown up, and the chip makes him see things that might not be there ...
  • The Xmas Spirit: Ian (Ian Hopps) and Devin (Devin Valdez) have just moved into their new home, to find it weirdly haunted. So they call a ghosthunter (Dave Sheridan) to cleanse the place. Only the ghosthunter proves to be a bit of a weirdo himself ...

Now there's a concept that you don't hear every day, an anthology of Christmas-themed found footage movies, with a Christmas-themed wraparound segment that's also shot found footage style. And while the found footage approach seems slightly irritating in at least some of the segments, they're all very well-told and well-structured shorts, with nice plottwists and macabre details, as you'd come to expect from an old school anthology, and fittingly, too, the segments vary in tone from the almost comical to the utterly disturbing, to keep the audience well-entertained thoughout, while a solid cast only adds to the enjoyability of this movie.
