A documentary that takes us to five of the most notoriously haunted
locations in the USA and relates their respective stories:
- The Devil's Stairs: During roadworks more than a century ago,
a worker who tripped making his getaway from a blast site was blown up
- and since there are reports of spooky hitchhikers ...
- Ghosts of Gallow's Hill: The notorious "hanging
house", where the executed are said to have been buried too after
their executions, has long been one of the main attractions of the Wilmington
Ghost Tours - until the tour guides got scared shitless
themselves.
- Cemetary Gates: A suburban family has decided to use
discarded but beautiful former cemetary gates (they have regularly
acquired) as gates to their driveway ... but have they opened gates to
the next world doing so?
- Waverly Hills Sanitarium: Once the last station for
terminally ill TB-patients, the sanitarium has a dark history
culminating in the suicides of two nurses ... but it has long been
abandoned - but do the spirits of the dead know that?
- Railroad Ghost: A tunnle is haunted by a female spirit - very
likely the ghost of a woman who boarded a train to meet her husband to
be about a century and a half ago, only to be murdered by a jealous
suitor on the train while passing through said tunnle.

Now here's another documentary about the paranormal that won't make even one
believer out of a sceptic - but even a sceptic like myself can't totally
deny this is a pretty decent effort. Why? Because it doesn't try to hammer
its message home with a sledgehammer. Sure, three are quite a few
paranormal investigators doing their thing in this movie, but the thing
never gets preachy and tries to sell randomly collected facts as solid
proof (as so many other paranormal documentaries do), instead presents its
stories more like urban legends, which quite a few re-enactments and the
like - which makes this a very enjoyable paranormal documentary, actually.
