Robin Hood (Richard Greene) and Friar Tuck (Alexander Gauge) have a
wager: Who can collect more money, Robin posing as a beggar or the friar
by praying. Things turn out rather unexpectedly when Robin finds out the
beggars has hooked up with are actually thieves, and he relieves them off
their money to return it to its rightful owner (Gudrun Ure), while Tuck
tricks two fake monks (Willoughby Gray, Victor Woolf) out of their money. So
so episode with quite a few humourous touches - and quite a few homosexual
allusions, from the friendly wrestling between Robin and the friar at the
beginning of the story via Robin and a beggar playing strip-knifethrowing
(similar in sorts to strip poker) to the friar literally sitting on Robin
towards the ending. Not that these allusions say much of course, I just
found it interesting to note.
