Your new movie 73
Minutes - in a few words, what is it about, and what can you tell
us about your character in it?
I would say this film is about the experience of shooting a movie through
the midst of a pandemic and the lockdown. There was no way to push that
fact aside.
Storywise, Keith is someone who finds himself at the end of a chapter and
unsure of how to move forward in life with family and a woman he has
fallen in love with. The catalyst to moving forward is a life and death
situation Keith must help Monica with.
How did you get involved with the project in the
first place, and what drew you to it?
It was something that was a long time coming. Director Lou Simon [Lou
Simon interview - click here] and I have many mutual
friends that she had worked with in the past on previous films. She
reached out with this “crazy and wild idea” to film a movie during the
lockdown while never being in the same room as the other actors. I
immediately without any hesitation said yes because I knew it was a
challenge and a unique experience. Plus it sounded fun.
What can you tell us about 73
Minutes' director Lou Simon, and what was working with her like? I
have now filmed with Lou on two productions and I’m sure we have some
more in the future. She knows what she wants in every scene but is also
very open to having us roam free and bring our creative input to it.
That’s what you want from a director. Someone who tells you “this is
the backbone of what I have in mind. Now let me see what you can bring to
it.”
As the 73
Minutes was shot under lockdown conditions, what was
the shoot actually like for you, and how did that influence your acting? A
unique acting experience. I was never in the presence of any of the other actors
or even in direct communication with them. Lou would feed me the lines of the
other actors in the scene and I had to react to that. Imagination always
plays a role in the work we do, but with this project it definitely
required more than usual. Any future projects you'd like to
share? Lou and I worked on another film after this one. It's called 9
Windows and it's a modern remake of Rear Window. I play
Jeff, an occupational therapist who is taking care of a young woman who is
unable to walk after an accident. She witnesses a murder online, and I'm
trying to help her solve the mystery. What got you into acting in the first place, and
did you receive any formal training on the subject?

I’ve been an actor since I was very young. My mother had done a couple of
commercials in her day and she transferred her passion for stories and
films to me as well. Took Drama in high school, studied at various studios, graduated from the
New
York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, and as they say, the rest is history.
