Undercover cop HAyato (Sonny Chiba) hooks up with the Seiwa gang, which
is big in marihuana smuggling. Hayato's first assignment is to take out
rival boss Natsui, an assingment he has no problems accepting (despite
being a cop), but unfortunately he fails to really kill Natsui, only
injures him, and furthermore is almost hit by Natsui's hitman, the
alcoholic Sudo, himself.
Natsui however has his way of dealing with Hayato, and soon sends him
his girl Ayako to charm him, and to ultimately convince him to change
sides (need I tell you that Ayako eventually falls in love with Hayato and
in the end dies a heroine's death to save his life ?), and soon enough,
Hayato really throws in with Natsui, and takes out the entire Seiwa gang
with a few of Natsui's gunmen. Then though, Natsui's gunmen are supposed
to kill him, and he is only saved by - of all people - Natsui's hitman
Sudo, who not only sees Hayato's potential but also saves his life out of
a sense of honour.
However, soon it's found out that Hayato is an undercover cop, and Sudo
is supposed to kill him after all, when he decides to side with Hayato to
repent for his sins, and really he can shoot Hayato free, even if it costs
his own life.
In the end of course, Hayato can in an explosive finale blow Natsui's
operation to kingdom come almost sindle-handedly ...
Like the first film of the series, Yakuza Deka, this one is a
light-headed but violent crime comedy in which the plot is little more
than an excuse to tie the sometimes quite expressive action scenes
together. By no means a great movie, but if you can accept somewhat
brainless action entertainment, and if you want to see Sonny Chiba at a
pot party, then this is your film.
