Since her husband Peter has lost his job, Naomi (Tori Black) is the
only provider for their little family (they also have a baby daughter),
and she finds it increasingly hard to make ends meet. Then she loses her
job too, and she just finds the heart to tell her husband. Instead, she
tells her best friend Amber (Stormy Daniels), and to her surprise she
finds out that Amber moonlights as a hooker. And it doesn't take Amber
long to persuade to join her - and after serious problems adjusting, Naomi
becomes a much-booked prostitute. Sure, the work doesn't stop to disgust
her, especially when she has to fuck her former boss who fired her, and
she hates to always lie to her husband, but she loves the money. And then
there's also cocaine which makes things lots easier ... Peter starts
complaining that Naomi hardly spends time with her family anymore, and
that she works too long hours (he of course thinks she's still working at
her old job), and Naomi feels increasingly guilty. When he tells her
though he wants to celebrate their anniversary and she already has an
appointment, she phones another girl to take over from her (the
appointment, not the anniversary) - and that girl gets killed by her
customers. Naomi knows she should have been there in her colleague's
place, and she breaks down and confesses everything to Peter - who leaves
her almost immediately with their daughter. Naomi's heartbroken - until a
few weeks later he returns and offers to give it another shot ... While
this might sound like a cheesy made-for-television movie, it's actually
hardcore porn - and maybe a story about sexworkers is supposed to be told
that way, because the movie as it is is pretty decent, it's rather
well-written (especially for a plot-based porn flick), well-paced, and
since this is a film about sex, the sex scenes don't get into the way of
the story too much or vice versa. And on top of that, lead Tori Black
isn't only extremely hot, she also handles her role very well acting-wise. That
all said, Whatever it Takes is no classic, it's just ok and you
better like porn as such to enjoy it ... but enjoyable it is.
