Tarkan (Kartal Tibet) has been entrusted with safeguarding Yonca (Fatma
Belgen), the daughter of Attila the Hun. However, soon enough the Vikings
under evil warlord Toro (Bilal Inci) attack, & not only kidnap Yonca
but also kill Tarkan's favourite dog Kurt. Tarkan, with Kurt jr at his
side, soon embarks on a journey to the North to avenge Kurt ... ah yes,
and to free Yonca.
Meanwhile, Toro has made it back home, where he immediately usurps the
throne & feeds the rightful ruler, King Gero (Atif Kaptan) to the
giant octopus that just happens to live close by thge Viking coast.
However, he has also kidnapped Lotus (Seher Seniz), daughter of the
Chinese emperor, & she seems to be willing to become his favourite
concubine ... until she drugs him, takes her men with her, & Yonca as
a prisoner, & makes an escape from Viking country.
Somewhere on her way back home she meets Tarkan, on his way North,
& oblivious to the fact that Yonca is her captive, he lets himself be
seduced, then drugged by Lotus. However, soon afterwards, Lotus herself
and Yonca are taken captives by Toro & his men again, & Tarkan
seems to be their only hope ...
Back up in Viking land, Princess Ursula (Eva Bender), daughter of Gero,
returns from a raid, to find her father gone & the throne usurped.
& what's worse, Toro soon overpowers her & wants to feed her to
the octopus too ... however, Orso (Hüseyin Alp), the thug guarding the
octopus' sacrificial site, is loyal to Ursula & saves her from being
sacrificed.
Soon Tarkan arrives in Viking land, where the first man he meets is
thug Orso, whom he finds & defeats ... which leads Ursula to the
conclusion that this man might be vital in overthrowing Toro, & the
two team up - but Tarkan is soon captured by Toro & his men, &
after Lotus wants to throw him into a snakepit but fails (something she
pays with her own life), Tarkan too is to be sacrificed to the octopus ...
but is saved by his dog, Kurt jr, while Ursula cuts the ropes that tie him
to the sacrificial site, but is seriously wounded by Toro's archers.
Once freed, Tarkan leaps into the water & takes on - & defeats
- the octopus. Then he returns to solid ground, ducks Toro's archers &
throws Toro from his castle's walls into the water. wkith a daring leap
into the water after him, Tarkan manages to place a sword neatly between
Toro's ribs.
In the end, Tarkan & Yonca leave Viking land, waving good bye to
their new friend, Ursula.
As so often with Turkish films, this one is anything but a masterpiece,
but the raw anything-goes imagination, the harsh & crude but honest
violence & the fascination for the genre & filmmaking as such
easily transmit to a receptive viewer (such as myself), leaving one mouth
agape about the daring of Turkish (trash-)filmmakers, & about the
enjoyability of the film at the same time. I
So, if you want to be entertained, watch it, don't take it seriously
for one single minute, but WATCH IT !!!
