2 years ago, Rico (Christopher Mitchum) was sent to prison because he has
atttacked Don vito (Arthur Kennedy) the killer of his father, now his out again
& bent on revenge. But much has changed in the last 2 years, Don Vito has
taken over not only Rico's father's organisation but also Rico's girlfriend
Rosa (Malisa Longo). Rico finds allies though in Rosa's father, who despises
her new choice of mate, & his niece Scilla (Barbara Bouchet), whom Rico not
only falls in love with, but she also volunteers in providing him with access
to Vito's villa, where Rico, before having to make his getaway, can meet Rosa
& persuade her to tell him who really killed his father - though pretty
much everyone knows it was Don Vito -, & Rosa agrees. Meanwhile
Rico & Scilla get to work to sabotage the operations of Vito's
organisation, including depriving Vito's moneycollectors of Vito's money (which
involves a delightful stirp by Scilla) or stealing both money & diamonds
from one of Vito's diamond deals (where Rico almost gets killed by Cyrano
[Eduardo Fajardo], Vito's right-hand-man , who has decided to work into his own
pocket). After a while, all this has grown too much for Don Vito, who with
great regularity turns his employees into soap via a big acid pool, once they
have failed him. So Vito decides to take the offensive, & he has Rico's
mum, sister & brother-in-law killed in cold blood. Plus, he catches Rosa in
bed with one of his bodyguards, so he has her made into soap as well, but not
before she can tell Rioco it ws indd Vito who killed his father. It all ends
in a big shoot-out in Vito's soap factory between Rico on one side, Don Vito
& his men on the other, & Rico shoots them all, but once he has killed
Vito too, he dies as well from multiple bullet holes. Unremarkable
gangster/revenge movie that iss way too straightforward to stay interesting,
& does hold little in either the surprise or the suspense department. Even
the rather macabre idea of turning people into soap is rather downplayed.
