Phil Prince was a prolific pornographer in the 1980s, and his films
were usually highly exploitative and often involving rape and torture.
Brian O'Hara, director of this movie, has worked as an editor for Prince
on a few of his films and has eventually done an interview with Prince and
some of his close behind-the-scenes confidants, where Prince is allowed to
share his view of things ... Now I have to stress here, while
this documentary is not full-blown porn, some of the (mostly
behind-the-scenes) footage does contain nudity and sexual situations, so
obviously this is not a movie for everyone, which you might already have
guessed from the title though. That said, at the same time the film also
demystifies the porn world a bit: Phil Prince himself doesn't come off as
a demonic sleazebag, just as a slightly dirty average man, and his female
confidants don't seem to have any qualms working with him. Likewise, the
outtakes from his movies (the performers fluffing their lines and the
like) are more humourous than dirty - so that all's an interesting twist
on things for sure. Plus, the film is edited together in a very
light-footed manner to entertain throughout - while still shining an
authentic light on its subject matter.
