If you were Bigfoot and wanted to stay out of people's sight, where
would you go? The answer in this documentary is, probably Alaska. With
its wide stretches of completely unexplored land, its vast forests and its
sparse human population as it is, paired with plentiful food sources, it
should be easy for any creature no matter what size to avoid human contact
- more or less, as sightings have been reported, plus it seems the oral
history/legends of all indigenous peoples up North do include Bigfoot-like
creatures. And filmmaker Seth Breedlove, who has been trying to track down
Bigfoot (or at least Bigfoot legends) all across North America, has this
time around gone to the Northern-most area of his quest ... ...
and this way delivers another fascinating piece in Bigfoot-lore,
and one that's interesting even if you're a non-believer, because he
doesn't go into it as a stern believer wanting to prove a point, but a
curious man who's collecting stories, oral history if you will, interviews
plenty of Alaskans who have had Bigfoot encounters (some
more, some less believable), and keeps an open mind about things. And as a
filmmaker he's clever enough to counterpoint hiw talking heads with
impressive pictures of beautiful and moody Alaskan landscapes, to make the
movie a feast for the eyes as well - and a Bigfoot-documentary
well worth a watch.
