One rainy night, a woman (Jill Awbrey) enters the Sheriff's office, wet
from the rain all over, and obviously traumatized. The sheriff (Meredith
Thomas) tries to get at the bottom of what has happened to her, but during
the questioning, the woman just drifts off to the missing posters hanging
on the office walls and starts telling the stories of the people in the
posters:
- We All Scream: A boy's (Joseph JoJo Martinez) is so eager to
get his hands on some icecream that he throws all caution into the
wind when he finds a creepy icecream truck parking in front of his
home - and he ends up being kidnapped for that ...
- Nite Flirt: With nothing on TV late one night, young Tammy
(Gigi Gustin) is just happy for any kind of distraction - even if it's
having phone sex with a stranger (Bill Moseley) she has met through a
phone flirting service. Thing is, that stranger's much more than just
a pervert looking for a quick kick ...
- Miniature: A young woman (Jenna Kanell), trapped in a
miniature suburbia populated by robotic humans, tries to burn down her
surroundings in order to escape one way or the other - but fails to
understand the very nature of her imprisonment ...
- You Promised: Will (Justin Miles) is very much in love with
Carol (Moriah N. Boone) and wants to fulfill her every wish - but for
that he needs money, and lots of it. But unfortunately he's not too
choosy how to get the money needed, with dire consequences for both -
especially for her as she's killed for his mistakes. But she comes
back to haunt him - and not only him ...
With all these stories told, the weird woman also reveals the sheriff's
secret that's almost more disturbing than the stories she has just told
...
A truly satisfying horror anthology, as it not only features a quartet
of really cool horror shorts, its wraparound story is also very engaging
and well-structured around the segments. What's more, despite everything
was made on a budget apparently, this is an overall very slick production
that does its well-written stories justice, and features some really good
acting. So if horror anthologies are at all your thing, you're almost sure
to be well entertained with this one.
... and if this has gotten you at all interested, this movie's
streaming on https://www.screambox.com/
from November 28th, 2023.
