When down on his luick photographer Roger (Gérard Blain) lays his eyes on
some nude photos of Laura Parrish (Ira von Fürstenberg), wife of ruthless
millionaire Parrish (Paul Hubschmid), he figures she is quite a dame, &
when the next day he finds Berlinger, who had the photos, killed 6 the photos
gone, he figures ... well, I don't know ... suffice to say he soon picks up
Laura, has sex with her & persuades her to leave her husband & fly to
Nice with him, to stay in the city's best hotel, the Negresco ... with her
paying, naturally. & Roger feels so sonfident too that he not only fails
to notice that Laura has not really cut her ties to Parrish & Parrish's
watchdog Charly (Charly Kommer) contstantly watches over her, Roger even picks
up other women in pretty much every other scene ... Eventually though,
Roger's & Laura's money runs out, so Laura has the grand idea to move from
the hotel to the villa of millionaire Borell (Serge Marquand) who has long had
the hots for her, & even with Roger on her side tries to permanently pick
her up. One night though, when trying to rob some of Borell's money, he finds
the nude photo's of Laura again, & on the backside construction plans for
electronic tanks ... & he realizes he has gotten into some espionage story,
but for some reason that is no reason for him to bail out, but only to get in
even deeper, & soon he tries to extort money from Parrish ... Laura, who
is somehow involved in all this basically becvause she had told Charly to kill
berlinger to gget back her nude photographs, realizes that Roger is doomed, as
Parrish is out of his league, but she sticks with hm nevertheless & helps
him exchange the photos Roger has made of the construction plans for hard
currency ... but of course she is shot doing so, & Parrish makes sre that
Roger is blamed for the shooting ... Weak espionage thriller
definitely made on the cheap but referring to the way better budgeted James
Bond-series several times throughout the movie while hardly ülaing in
the same league on any level. In fact the story is so messed up that most of
the time you don't even know what is happening and why, with the characters all
uninteresting enough that one doesn't even care, & the dialogue is just
plain silly. Pretty much a waste of time.
