Lily Munster (Yvonne De Carlo) finds out that the family bank account
is empty, and she suspects her husband Herman (Fred Gwynne) has slipped
into bankruptcy without telling her - so to help out the family, she
decides to accept a job as a palm reader at Ramon's (Lee Bergere)
teahouse, but only tells cousin Marilyn (Pat Priest) about it to not
embarrass Herman. Herman of course has not gone bankrupt but borrowed a
sizeable junk of money to Grandpa's (Al Lewis) son Lester (Irwin Charone)
for some business venture - even if Leslie's a lousy businessman.
Everything's going well for a while, but then Herman arrives home from
work early to not find Lily, and Grandpa tells him she leaves house
everyday in her best clothes. So eventually they go after her and witness
her reading Ramon's palm, and of course they come to all the wrong
conclusions. Herman wants to give Lily a chance to explain herself, but
not knowing what she's suspected of she gives some excuses that make her
seem even more guilty, and thus Herman goes to teach that
"homewrecker" Ramon a lesson - while back home Lily receives
news that Lester is ready to pay back the money he borrowed. And after
Grandpa lets Lily in on everything and vice versa, they rush to the
teahouse to prevent the worst - but Herman's appearance alone has already
knocked Ramon out so Herman hadn't even had a chance to lay a hand on him
... It's fun for sure: All the leads are at their usual
hilarious best and show pretty awesome chemistry, and also work with
pretty solid material in this episode, while the supporting roles are well
cast, with some having a comedic edge of her own - and Chet Stratton as
employment agent trying to find Lily a job deserves special mention here.
So a pretty good watch for sure.
