Marilyn (Pat Priest) is sent home from college because aunt Lily
Munster (Yvonne De Carlo) has forgotten to pay her tuition. Herman Munster
(Fred Gwynne) decides to do his bid to get her back into school and
volunteers to go and talk to the principal - but once at college, he
stumbles into the office of coach Denham (Frank Maxwell) and his assistant
Jerry (Gene Blakely) and is mistaken for Kentuckian basketball player
Moose Mallory (Robert Easton) and hired on the spot. Thinking he has
everything sorted out on Marilyn's behalf he returns home, where it only
gradually dawns upon him that he has goofed up major league-ly. But
then the actual Moose Mallory shows up at the Munsters' place along with
his father (Pat Buttram), and now Herman is pretty much forced to set
things straight with the school ... One of the lesser episodes
of The Munsters: While the leads are all at their usual best
and most hilarious, there's simply not enough story in this one to hang
all the gags onto, and the little story there is just seems to peter out
at the end. On top of that, the Beverly
Hillbillies sort of humour of Moose and Pops somewhat clashes
with the series own brand of comedy and really doesn't result in too many
laughs. That said, as a whole the episode's still funny, but that's more
Fred Gwynne, Yvonne De Carlo and Al Lewis's achievement rather than the
writing's.
